Do you know someone who may be alone for Thanksgiving or perhaps is unable to cook for themselves? Well the wonderful people at Benevilla will again provide a free Thanksgiving meal on November 27th at Birt’s Bistro for those individuals who might otherwise be alone or not have access to a holiday meal.
The traditional turkey dinner, all the trimmings and pumpkin pie will be served by volunteers and staff at Birt’s Bistro & Bookstore, located on the Hellen & John M. Jacobs Independence Plaza at 16752 N. Greasewood Street in Surprise. Doors will open at 11:30; the meal will be served at noon.
Reservations will be accepted until November 21 by calling (623) 584-4999. Transportation assistance may be available. Interested parties, particularly homebound caregivers, should discuss their particular situation when making their reservation.
King George VI is quoted as saying that “The highest of distinctions is service to others.” I think he would bestow this distinction on Benevilla, don’t you agree.
