As of this issue, the Veterans Club membership is at 137. If you are a military veteran and have not visited the Veterans Club, we urge you to stop by on the last Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm and see what the club is all about. We typically meet in the library room, but just find a veteran in a red shirt and follow him into the room. If you would like to know more about the club, please don’t hesitate to contact our Membership Chairman, Mike Ponting. You can reach him at Michael.firstname.lastname@example.org .
We are continuing our efforts in supporting Arizona Stand Down who provides needy veterans with a variety of support including medical, legal assistance, and other services, including helping with clothes. If you were at Coffee Talk, Scott Duke talked about this critically important program to our homeless veterans. The clothing aspect of Stand Down is where your donation of blue jeans and/or belts come into play. Every Tuesday evening during January at Social Hour, we will have a table setup with a box where you can drop off those jeans and belts. Help us help our military veterans by donating!
The next Veteran’s Club meeting will take place on 31 January at 5:00 pm (Kiva Club) and all veterans of the U.S. military are urged to join us to help “Serving those who served.”
