Genealogy Club Meeting
Monday, January 6, 2014 – 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Center for Higher Learning
The next meeting of the Trilogy at Vistancia Genealogy Club will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 starting at 1 pm in the Kiva Club Center for Higher Learning / Library facility. This month we will have a presentation on several mini-topics given by our own club member Mike Fisch.
Mike’s presentation will include:
- Vital Records, how to find, record, and source them
- Tips for successful searches
- Proving data, how to know if you’re right
- Common mistakes in genealogy
Mike is a native Minnesotan who has been researching his family history since the 1970’s. After retiring from a career in publishing he’s had the opportunity to spend more time on his research and works at it a bit each day. Much of his research time in the past couple years has been focused in New England, particularly Vermont. He’s been working on his Sons of the American Revolution application. Mike and Nancy have been Trilogy residents since May of this year.
We welcome our fellow Trilogy residents to join us. Visitors are allowed to attend one club meeting for free, and then can join our club with annual dues of $10.00 per person plus a one-time fee for new members of an additional $5.00 for a name badge. Membership includes access to our club website, which provides many resources to help you in researching your family legacy. We have a mix of members, from beginners to those who have completed extensive research into their family history. Come join us in your search to learn about your own ancestors. We hope to see you there!
