    AVONDALE VETERAN’S DAY PICNIC & CONCERT 

    Nov. 11th   10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.   Avondale City Hall – Amphitheater (11465 Civic Center Dr., Avondale)

    Free Event

    Help honor our veterans at this wonderful concert and picnic dedicated especially for them. Musical performances by JC & the Juke Rockers!  Free food provided for all veterans and their families (while supplies last).

    GLENDALE VETERANS DAY CEREMONY

    Nov. 11th    10:00 a.m.  Front Lawn of the Glendale Main Library

    During this ceremony in honor of Arizona’s service men and women, members of the Glendale Veterans Memorial Association, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Disabled American Veterans will replace the current flags from the memorial with new ones.  These flags include an American flag, an Arizona state flag, and a POW/MIA flag.  This ceremony is free and open to the public.  Please note that the Glendale Main Library itself will be closed for the holiday.

    MARICOPA COUNTY PARKS HONOR OUR VETERANS

    Nov. 11th    All Maricopa County Parks

    In 2005, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors issued a formal proclamation resolving that each Veterans Day from that point forward would be observed as Military Service Appreciation Day at all Maricopa County Parks.  All active and non-active military personnel are encouraged to visit any of the county’s parks and enjoy affordable recreation.  The $6 entry fee per carload will be waived for military personnel.  Maricopa County Parks in the West Valley:  Adobe Dam, Buckeye Hills, Desert Outdoor Center at Lake Pleasant, Lake Pleasant, Estrella Mountain, White Tank Mountain

    PEORIA VETERANS DAY CHARITY “DODGEBALL FOR A CAUSE” TOURNAMENT

    Nov. 15th     10:00 a.m.   Rio Vista Recreation Center

    The event will help benefit the Center’s Veterans’ Scholarship Fund, helping Peoria veterans with financial hardship access wellness opportunities at Rio Vista Recreation Center at a significantly reduced cost.  Registration is open to the public with 12 team slots available.  Each team will consist of six players to eight players with an entry fee of $140, with all the proceeds benefiting the Veterans Scholarship Fund.
